There are two main functions for real estate videos:
One it to promote the sale of an individual property.
The other is to promote the brokerage or agent.
Within these two distinct camps there are additional variations.
Let’s start with the property video.
Property videos intended for the MLS must be “unbranded”, that means no broker logo’s, no phone numbers, really no text but the address of the property. This does not mean the videos cannot be exciting with a mix of drone and ground video set to music, etc. It does mean no business card, no self promotion.
Property videos are usually in landscape format like your computer monitor, but they can also be vertical like your phone. These videos can contain voice overs about the property, graphics to highlight special parts of a home, price info, etc.
An agent promotion video however can be whatever you want it to be. Special effects, fast music, unrelenting self promotion, go for it! These videos are usually shot in a vertical format for use on social media such as Instagram and TikTok. They violate MLS rules, but your not putting them on the MLS!

- Agent branding reels, 30 seconds
- Drone videos, usually 60 seconds
